I know a number of people who started looking at Desantis when he was publicly denouncing Fauci - while Trump was sticking with Fauci. Trump told Candace in a taped interview that he didn’t sideline Fauci because the left would go ballistic. Yeah, so?

This is getting interesting. DeSantis has said multiple times that if Trump runs, he will not run.

Now, polling showing DeSantis possibly beating Trump.

“ . DeSantis has said multiple times that if Trump runs, he will not run.”

If he has said that publicly, I haven’t seen it. Can you provide a link?

What I have heard him say is that he is focused on winning re-election in Florida and anything other than that is a distraction. That’s essentially what he said on Fox and Friends this week.

Oh yeah. Dump Trump. Good idea. The media, the Dems all the Covid enabling agencies and Fauci himself will adore DeSantis. They’ll let him walk in. A shoo in. They wouldn’t demream of looking up his records going back to when he was born and before and on finding nothing, making something up. Heck they don’t know the first thing about how to frame people, manipulate legal outcomes.

DeSantis is not running.

DeSantis is demonstrating leadership I haven’t seen in a long, long time.

“a new week new anti Trump article.”

Trump needs to know that no one is owed the nomination. It has to be earned. His sticking with Fauci was inexcusable. He needs to know that if he pulls something like that again, other candidates are waiting in the wings.

I follow the MAGA agenda. I don’t worship any politician. I support a politician to the extent he or she supports my family and the MAGA cause.

My ideal.

GOP takes house in November.

House GOP caucus selects Trump speaker.

Trump as Speaker will foil Pelosi, her gang, and Biden, for all of 2023 and 2024.

2023 Trump backs DeSantis for POTUS.

2024 DeSantis wins and Trump remains speaker.

With DeSantis in the WH and Trump as Speaker they will get a lot done.

I will say this about DeSantis, he doesn’t have the “grab ‘em by the p**sy” thing against him like Trump does, in fact I can’t think of any dirt the Marxist domestic enemies have on DeSantis. Of course they can make them up, but it’s not going to stick as much as it would against Trump. I think the Marxist domestic enemies would have a hell of a more difficult time trying to slander DeSantis than Trump. But I think either one of them would easily win 2020 granted election integrity is assured.

Listen. Great Britain dumped Churchill. The job of POTUS is bigger than any one man. Trump is not an incumbent. DeSantis just put his marker down on state complicity in injecting children with the notavax. He’s entitled to explore what the upper margin of his POTUSibility is, or could turn out to be, without being accused of being insufficiently deferential to your favorite and mine, the Bad, Bad Orange Man.

Are you happy with Trump for putting Fauci onstage and keeping him there?

Did you follow Trumps and Fauci’s advice and get boosted?

Are you glad Trump denounced Desantis as a coward for keeping his vax-booster status private?

If DeSantis should beat him in the primary, Trump will tell his supporters to sit out the general election because that’s the kind of guy Trump is.

DeSantis' best shot might be in 2024. There are not guarantees in politics. Plus we tend to be cyclical. If Trump wins in 2024. A Rat will win '28 and '32. DeSantis' next window could be in '36.

Fake news.
Trump is currently 6/5 Desantis is 3/1.

Trump is the lowest he has ever been to be the winner in 2024 right now at 5/2.

Pointless for DeSantis to win the nomination and lose the general. If Trump runs, DeSantis should stay out. There’s a segment of Trump supporters who will not vote for anyone who crosses Trump. IMHO, that segment is large enough to doom any GOP candidate in the general. And denying Trump the nomination is the very definition of crossing Trump.

The guys thinking of running against Trump are no-hopers looking to parlay a run into corporate board seats (with typical $100K & up minimum annual stipends for a few days of board meetings a year) through private sector bigwigs they meet during grip and grins. They also get to draw a salary from campaign funds while running. And, in politics, no one really *knows* for sure how things will turn out. It’s a roll of the dice that might end up with them in the White House. Haley, Pence and Hutchison are basically retired. They’re certainly too old to climb the corporate ladder as middle managers. They have nothing but time on their hands.

I think you’re onto something

But what job would they find for Kevin McCarthy? Something in the House post office/mailroom?

I like it. And Rudy Giuliani as Attorney general although I doubt he would accept the position. If he did, I know without one scintilla of doubt he would absolutely bring her Hellness Hillary Rotten Clinton to justice. He has been wanting to do that for the longest time, the disease that has been causing this country so many problems for so long would finally be excised.

I would eat that Scooby snack up, Trump as House Speaker! Arguably he needs the gig to control his political future against those in both parties who wish to crucify him for a thousand different supposed political sins.

Nobody was a bigger supporter of Trump than me, but his judgement in hiring people to serve under him was atrocious. I doubt Desantis would be that reckless.
