Most teachers tend to be very liberal (as are their school administrators, union leaders, etc.). Conservative teachers don’t seem to have it quite as bad as conservative college professors, but it may getting there. And they, too, are subject to the Tyranny of Cool (see below).

These lib parents are just trying to virtue signal? Show they are teaching their kids to be “tolerant and accepting”?
Remember how as a teen it was *so important* to be cool. Gotta be cool. You had to act cool, dress cool, talk cool. Teens were terrified of not being cool. (I call it the Tyranny of Cool.) For many adults that never really goes away.
The Tyranny of Cool is fairly benign when it only applies to fashion, slang, mannerisms, cars, possesions, etc. But when it comes to attitudes, opionions, behaviors, beliefs, actions, etc., it’s not so benign, because now it’s not just the Fashion Police involved, it’s the Thought Police. And they are part of a package deal.
Instead of reasoning out for themselves, the Tyrants of Cool (whoever “they” may be) provide readymade opinions, beliefs, etc., prescribe certain behaviors and proscribe others. Wanna be in the favored and admired “in crowd”? Then you gotta toe the line. “They” use pretty words like “acceptance” and “inclusion” and “tolerance” while labelling those who disagree with them ugly words like “bigots” and “racists” and “knuckledraggers”. It works. At least it works on too many people.
Sorry, but tolerating LGBTQ people, wishing them no harm, being polite to them etc., is one thing. Allowing them to frighten and confuse young children by injecting adult sexual issues into their innocent little worlds is another. And they have no innate interest or curiosity in such matters, anyway, other than wanting to know where babies come from.
Well, nowadays in some areas, the kid might ask “Daddy, why is that man wearing lipstick and and a dress?” To which “Gee, I don’t know, son — he looks pretty silly doesn’t he?” is a fine answer.
This Drag Queen show isn’t about Ashley and Brittany Force? That’s the only Drag Queens I want to see. 🤓
Feedback, or threats? Sponsors of perversity like that deserve to feel in physical danger.
...societal norms
Norms = normal...a new “N” word because it triggers those who are NOT.
Ugh. The OP was just an excerpt. There’s more:
Town council member Audra Killingsworth commented on Gilbert’s Facebook post claiming complaints about the event had escalated into violent threats, leading to the cancellation, Newsweek reported.
This is followed by the mayor condemning “hate speech” and disabling comments. The mayor said he had to “pull the Drag Queen Story Hour from the kids zone,” but there would still be drag queen shows onstage. In the adult zone, I presume. (One wonders what is in the “kids’ zone”.)
I so wish people would object, yes, “forcefully” as you say, but without violent threats. It makes it harder to get across our very good reasons for objecting and just makes us look bad.
When they got gay marriage, we hoped we could stop hearing about LGBTQ all the time. Now it’s trans-trans-trans all the time and drag queen story hour at the library. What next? Play with the Furries Day at the Park?
Actually, I think that is what they want. That’s why they are pushing so hard, because they really want someone to snap and do something like that.
The trannies are envious of the success the gays had, so they want to emulate them by provoking their own “Matthew Sheppard” moment.
Oh, it’s what they want, to be sure. But what they are going to get won’t be anything like what they think they want. Once that dam breaks, it will not be contained.
“Why would any parent take their kids to these events?”
Because they are people who believe that good is evil and evil is good.
I like the way you think.
Even they hate guys competing against girls.
I couldn’t agree more. There’s a war in the very notion that soMe behaviors are normal behaviors, and some are not
