Lori Klausutis died July 19, 2001. Check the Congressional daily digest for July 19, 2001, and check the roll call votes in the House of Representatives. Scarborough was voting in DC the day she died in Florida.

According to her husband, at a fundraiser a year after she was hired, Scarborough didn't recognize her. Scarborough was a thousand miles away when she died, and she was just another staff member he passed in the hall.

There might not have been as much speculation raised about Lori’s death if Scarborough hadn’t resigned so abruptly early in his 4th term and then later joking with Don Imus about getting into politics to have sex with an intern and then having to off her to cover it up when he was promoting his new show ‘Scarborough Country.’
