I support arming Ukraine IN SPITE OF JOE BIDEN! I support arming Ukraine because it was invaded by a larger and stronger neighbor on false pretenses (that continued to morph as the war dragged on). That’s it. I don’t like bullies, in people or countries.
That being said, as I mentioned in another thread, my support is not unlimited, and I supported Rand Paul’s actions on the recent $40 billion aid package (of which, in reality, only $27 billion is for Ukraine, and the other $13 billion is for undefined State Department use; and that is one of the things Rand Paul challenged).
Some of you support Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and openly cheer them on to victory. Hell, some of you (and I don’t know if you are one: I’d have to scroll back through three months of threads) are quite eager to see Ukraine not only defeated, but vanquished, almost in celebratory fashion.
So, your fallacious assumption that by supporting arming Ukraine means I support Biden’s destruction of America, including but not limited to those areas you identified, is simply bull crap. But about what I’ve come to expect from your ilk.

Me? USAF 1970-1974. USAFSS to be exact (that was Air Force Intelligence back in those days). Our mission was to spy on the USSR, and we did. I learned a lot about Russians first hand.
Yeah, I remember Bosnia, and I was very much opposed to NATO and the US getting involved in that civil war, and condemned it then and I condemn it now. Somalia was Bill Clinton, again. GHWB sent in the Marines to assure that food relief was delivered to those who truly needed it. It wasn’t just us, there were some other nations involved (but we were the largest contingent). That mission was accomplished and the Marines were withdrawn. It was Bill Clinton who reintroduced US troops with the mission of capturing a warlord and busting up his operation. I opposed that, too. Libya? I opposed that, and all the rest of the so-called Arab Spring (which was the brain fart of the Obama-Biden administration and the Hillary Clinton State Department). I supported Gulf War I. I initially supported Gulf War II until the evidence was conclusive that we were sold a bill of goods. My nephew fought in that war. My cousin’s nephew was KIA in that war.
You worked for DOS? You worked for one of the most politicized and most corrupt government agencies in America. Are you proud of your role in that?

Thanks for the reply, good to see some old timers discussing their wisdom. Like you, ( military) 82nd in the 70’s, went about my life from the Carter years till we hit Clinton years, then took note of the happenings.
Went to work for the corrupted DOS as a Colombian Army advisor a decade ago, saw a real war firsthand, and saw all the drugs the CIA, NSA, even the Naval Intelligence groups ( explain that- corruption- drug money) were involved in. Proud yes of the fact we destroyed hundreds of thousands of hectares of drugs.
Before that trained Ivan’s in Moscow for three years, and before that worked in Saudi ( Italian firm) training Saud Air Force(non DOD or DOS)- point- I saw first hand the corrupted agencies- but nothing like this.
I am throughly disgusted by the Biden war cheerleaders, especially supporting an evil, crooked beggar like Zelensky. You just don’t understand that someone can oppose the Russian invasion and want to support the smaller and weaker invaded without embracing Biden or his administration or his agenda — all of which I oppose. I support arming Ukraine in spite of Joe Biden. Russia supported the Ukrainian separatists with both men and materiel, beginning in 2014. Were you okay with that? Putin used much the same playbook in Georgia in 2008. Were you okay with that?
In 1941 both Hitler and Stalin were evil; yet, after June 22, 1941 we started to supply the USSR big time. By your logic, anyone who supported that supply was a Roosevelt war cheerleader.
In June, 1941 my father was a lieutenant in the US Army Air Corps (to become the YS Army Air Force in 1942). He was a pilot. He was a rarity: He was a Republican in deep-Democrat Louisiana. He had no use for Roosevelt. But he said supplying the USSR after it was invaded by Germany was not only right, it was smart. In 1942 he was among the first US aviators sent to Europe, and he flew bombers with the 8th Air Force throughout his tour of duty, which lasted until the end of the war. My father was hardly a Roosevelt war cheerleader.
