“Many white people wanted to ‘mourn George Floyd’ but they were not bringing the richness of how to honor Floyd, and they were not centering Black people and other people of color in this town, those who were feeling this experience the most.”

You, ma’am are an obnoxious racist.

> But the ankle tether will bring back horrible memories.

Yes, to be fully enlightened, one must let the board go free.

I know that this is the first thing I think of when going to a new beach. Although I will admit that I fail to connect Africans with being a seafaring community.

Sure, those great explorers like Kendrick de Gama, and Daquan Columbus, and Draymond Magellan.

If you care to surf you can join a black only bird watching group

Black birders are taking flight in L.A. Here’s how to join them

“People don’t associate us with the outdoors. I want to break that normality and make sure every Black person can go outdoors and feel safe,” says Samuels.

But the most sure-fire indicator is it was written in California about California.

“make sure every Black person can go outdoors and feel safe,”

I have to laugh. A mildly sadistic DI in boot camp had great fun with the black recruits and their terror of the outdoors and wildlife. Had to be inner city kids. cannot imagine one from the south being like that.

You can tell I'm still behind the times because I thought this was about the appearance of the moody, tempest-tossed, brooding and dark ocean.

‘How do you plan to get Black people the boards and wetsuits they need so that their ocean access can be prioritized, so that their processing can take precedence?’

WTF?

Are we suppose to email every black person?

How would we know you are black by email?

Why do self objectify as a race?

Are comfortable being objectified, as a race?

You live within 5 miles of the ocean and never went in it? Why is this my problem?

The only thing I remember hearing about surfing in Santa Cruz was that the locals were hyper territorial.

“Are black people going to the ski slopes next?”

The Black Skiers Association aka BSA have frequented the slopes for quite awhile. They even brought a full fledged brawl and gun battle to the Hyatt in Incline Village NV in the late 90’s. Keeping it real.

We came up the day afterward. We own a condo about 1/2 mile away. Our neighbor filled us in on the details. Said they were real tidy about it, after they went to their cars for their 9’s. He said they recovered all the wounded and dying. Needless to say they never were invited back.
