It is my understanding that workman’s comp protects businesses from employee lawsuits. If you accept workman’s comp you can’t sue, if you sue you loose workman’s comp. The family of the deceased wants it both ways. I doubt a judge will allow this suit to go forward.

What is everyone’s cut of the $15M? Judge is letting it go forward but has already cleared the driver. Driver attorney acts like this is normal way to get insurance money. Let’s see:
Deceased family: $5M
Attorneys :$3M
Jeep Owner: $3M
Dealership: $2M
Judge:$2M

Wow $15M may not be enough.

And some folks wonder why their insurance premiums keep going up. Attorneys file ridiculous law suits in the hope of getting a fat settlement, and if they do all the other shysters start looking at any similar situation. The solution to this problem is “loser pays” with the losing attorney being included as a party to the suit.

“INSURANCE IS PAYING”

NO-—Other policy holders in that ‘insurance company’ are paying.

Sure would like to know the insurance company involved.

Had ONLY one vehicle in entire life that had a warranty-—and I put over 444,000 on that vehicle. ALL others were private sales. Current ownership is 40+++ years of owning station wagon & 36 years of owning 1 ton 4 speed dually truck.

I do NOT recall ever going back to dealership for ANY service in over 30 years of ownership. Sometimes wish I still had that car.
