Peter Zeihan video is a must see about Russian oil production and war making capacity. Unique insights I have never seen.

“The fourth is the fatuity of European energy policy. This seems to be getting addressed to various degrees.”
Germany just passed laws expediting the building of a huge LNG import terminal. This must be for Middle Eastern LNG. Such as from Algeria and Saudi region nations.
It is not a question of us going to war over a microchip shortage (although I think
You are very cavalier in dismissing the tremendous impact such a shortage would have on prices and everyday life, not to mention National Security). It is a question of making sure a sovereign country can defend itself against an unprovoked attack by a superpower. An attack that not only threatens that small sovereign country but the worlds technological supply chain.
PS do you really think Russia cares about making a profit from Industrial NEON more that the power it would give them to control who could manufacture microchips ?
A sovereign country being attacked by a super power.
Like we did to Libya?
Should the US be destroyed economically for that?
Decade long civil war and far more dead than in the Ukraine.
I’m a EE, so I understand how important semiconductors are.
There’s disagreement about how far Russia is willing to go,
but if they feel they will be overwhelmed by NATO, they might
pull the trigger. I think there’s a fine line, many here don’t.
I did not agree with the attack on Libya but There was a well established track records of state sponsored terrorism there that was directed at American citizens. Russia also signed an agreement guaranteeing Ukrainian sovereignty which they now violate. Funny how their view changed once significant energy deposits were discovered below and offshore of eastern Ukraine. Comparing Libya to Ukraine is a bit of a stretch.
Libya hadn’t engaged in terrorism in decades. Qaddafi was cooperating with the US on intelligence after 9/11.
Funny how we attacked after Qaddafi talked about an African currency backed by gold.
Both situations are money and control/power.
Gaddafi got himself in trouble by using overwhelming deadly force to quell the protests and rebellion in eastern Libya. He went a bit overboard in trying to wipe out populations of certain cities where he was very unpopular. He was fighting a rebellion at the time and his popularity was eroding rapidly as many Libyans viewed him as corrupt. The UN and NATO should have minded their own business but it was not just the US attacking Libya, it was every NATO country and the United Arab Emirates.
I agree that Libya was a mistake but it is not at all comparable to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Apples and oranges.
That prayer is mainly for those doing the praying—i.e., when we ourselves die, we have “a Christian ending to our live, painless, blameless, and peaceful”, and then have “a good defense before the awesome judgement seat of Christ”!!
And—by the way—I doubt that Putin is really facing cancer surgery!!
