Try grapeseed oil, or good olive oil and make your own mayo. It might take some experimentation to find the right flavor. One does not really need avocado oil or grapeseed oil to make mayo - these are usually used for their higher smoke point for frying / Sautéing. Some people like Hellman's or some of the others that have a tangier flavor (not a heavy tang like miracle whip). Me, I prefer (I'll get endlessly flamed for this) Kraft regular mayo as it is less intrusive and doesn't cover up the flavor of what is in the sandwich. There are plenty of options, are you sure you've tried them all?

My mom grew up in WWII England. She was from a lower working class family, but a family that was even poorer than hers would send a kid over to their house to get their “dripping” so they could make “chips”. I bet they were good.
