Your solution seems to be one of “GIVE UP!”

The “RNC” report to the state parties. If a majority of the state parties kick, restructure change the “RNC”. It’s changed! Yes, it a big challenge!

As far flipping pols go, I know exactly how easy it is to do. We watched McKinley go from a staunch Tea Party guy to a RINO! It can happen quickly, many pols (Since politics are their profession!) arrive flipped others it takes about 10 years, or 5 reelections if a House member two if a Senator.

If it fails one or twice or even three times you still don’t give up! I am not going to give a Valley Forge speech; I am sure you get my point.

You say people want something they can believe in. I ask you are they talking about politics or religion? If they want religion go to church, if they want politics then it must be fought for! That means get in the trenches and do it. The biggest thing that can be done on the local level that almost anyone can do is show up and oust their school board, particularly if members have been there more than one term! That will be a huge shot across the local politicians bow. Next a rule-of-thumb if a state legislator has served 10 years or more vote him\her out! My only exception to this rule is if the Rat opposition is obviously a socialist nut!

You are still arguing for a miraculous event a 3rd party to overnight replace the GOP. Let’s assume for a minute that it did happen, and it was able to absorb instantly all the national and state assets it would need to function. I assure within 10 year this party would be no different than the present-day GOP. The same place-seeking, rent seeking and influence peddling would continue. Why? Because in both cases these political parties are made up of people. People do what people do; they do what they do in every political system - they game it! It would not go away just because you’ve changed the party names!

Also, you seem to want things to go binary, bad to good! Binary events are what computers do; life is a continuum. There are parts bad & good. The next GOP controlled Congress hopefully will be better than the one. How much remains to be seen! However more RINOs and Old Bulls will be gone, there still will be plenty there. For the next election remove those RINOs, left over Old Bulls and remove the ones that went RINO in 2 years. Eternal vigilance is indeed the price of liberty!

Giving up and wishing for miracles is a bad substitute for what is and will be hard work!

I left NRSC out of the discussion because it’s a child of the GOP’ers in the Senate, replace the GOP RINOS in the Senate it will change.

It’s more akin to a position that needs filled because there are no Republicans capable of leading anything in the US congress. They are timid rabbits scared of their own shadows, the media and their good friends from across the aisle. Offensive and aggressive GOP leadership actually scares them into crapping their pants. Reagan and Trump were on the offense and the GOP congress could rarely be counted on to have their backs.

The GOP should win the House in 2024 and maybe even the senate, but I expect absolutely nothing out of them from these victories just like in 2010 and 2014, they will go along to get along with their Democrat friends. All the GOP cares about is the perks and $ that flow from being the majority party, they never plan on keeping campaign promises and run from every single fight.

All that being said I will hold my nose and vote for Rand Paul in the fall because sometimes he votes conservative, but I cannot vote for Hal Rogers for the House, he’s the Robert Byrd of Kentucky, blank slot on that one. I hold no illusions of the GOP doing anything should they win.

Your optimism is commendable. Your belief in the importance of hard work and perseverance is also commendable, but as most people know you can’t grow crops in bad soil and harsh conditions. Please get back to me when the GOP reformation process starts in earnest. Years from now the RNC will still be the same ole RNC serving the same ole special interests.

There’s one thing I admire about the Democrat Party: it fights like hell for its voters. Sure, its radical to the core and corrupt but, by and large it works to advance the interests of the base. The GOP does not.

The GOP is at best a one issue party. The only thing it cares about is taxes. Well that, and its own re-election. Everything else gets lip service.

I suspect your long attachment/loyalty to the GOP is coloring your view of what the party is really all about. Look and listen to what many conservatives right here on the board are saying. They are sick and tired of being stabbed in the back and deceived by an unresponsive party. You probably feel that they are abandoning the party, but its really the party that is abandoning them.

You argue for working within and reforming a party structure that clearly has no intent on working to advance the conservative agenda. In fact, the GOP spends more time working to appease Democrats than it does working for its own base.

You stated that it seems I “want things to go binary, bad to good! Binary events are what computers do; life is a continuum.” Well, Trump’s election proves you wrong. This was a sudden and cataclysmic event in the political world that exemplifies the potential for rapid change that real leadership can bring about.

Unfortunately the GOP worked tirelessly (and some would say still is) to resist and undermine him. Why? Because Trump wanted to clean house and they were not about to allow him to change the corrupt system that they are so wedded to.

You see, lots of people don’t like being stabbed in the back and they don’t like being lied to. Our patience and tolerance for that little game is over. As the old adage says, fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. A growing number of people are sending a powerful message to the GOP by telling them they’re done with the deceit game and are looking for real leadership. Anywhere they can get it.

Ditto to your sentiments about the GOP.

A bunch of timid rabbits they are.
