“I always wondered why the most powerful man in the world could not counter the bs that was thrown at him everyday.”
What world were you living in for the four years Trump was in office? He countered the bs that was thrown at him every single day that he was in office. Is it his fault that he’s not a king and doesn’t have unlimited power? So he was the most powerful man in the world or at least the most powerful national leader in the world. That doesn’t mean he has unlimited power. In case you’ve forgotten, we’re a republic not a monarchy and Trump had Constitutional restrictions on his power. Are you upset that he didn’t just shut down the MSM by decree and didn’t imprison all his enemies without due process?
Trump made mistakes, but he fought the deep state harder than any President ever has and did more damage to their agenda than any other President before. But he fought within the system. That naturally limits his power, but what choice did he have? The fact that the left fought Trump so hard - impeaching him twice - shows you how much damage he did to them. George Bush was never impeached.
So you can cut Trump loose because he wasn’t able to finish the job, or at least hasn’t yet. Or you can get behind the only person out there able to carry on the fight.
thanks...methinks he may be a trans-troll. ha
LOL!
It’s time to post the LIVE THREAD TRUMP RALLIES as [CAUCUS]
great post!
Agree!
Think you are in the political weeds on this (post 185) and unintentionally exalting yourself.
If DeSantis and Trump should oppose one another in the primaries, and DeSantis should win, there is not a person on FR that will not do his all for a DeSantis win. Do you doubt it would be otherwise? Would your only reward be an “I told you all so?”
You want them both to run against one another in the primaries because you think DeSantis wins. I don’t want them to run against one another in the primaries because I think it weakens them both and the biggest loser would be US.
BUT, you missed my essential point in post 174 (which you nevertheless quoted and then ignored)-—”first we need TRUMP to finish the work he started, as only he and he alone is qualified to do to save our country.”
Although I assume this is not the case, you talk as if you are so far up in the peanut gallery (without a Jumbotron), it leads me to believe you don’t have the slightest clue what happened during the Trump presidency-— what he exposed, nor what he endured, nor what he was able to accomplish under the most vicious, corrupt, and criminal opposition any US President has ever been assaulted with.
Yet the corruption has only exploded and the corruptocrats are in our face more than ever. Nothing has changed...except Trump’s public vindication by virtue of alternate media gaining strength by investigative reporters exposing the corruption in our country, which knowledge is only recently beginning to filter down to Dems and Independents.
IMO, A premature DeSantis presidency would tragically bury him and our country.
He is the great governor of Florida. Trump is currently the most undervalued President in US history, and his finger never left the pulse of America after the 2020 election. His absence isn’t a vacation; it has been a gift to give him more time to reflect, regroup and gather more information. IIRC, I think Trump himself recently said similar.
Post 200? Do you honestly think you learned more (to your disappointment) about Trump and the Trump Presidency than Trump himself!
Post 151 and 211
Trump Girl Kit Cat and mbrfl...Amen and thumbs up!! an economy of words and more wisely expressed.
Wish I had seen your posts before I posted.
You and I are the reason we need Trump more than ever.
Thanks, thouworm, for your kind words, and thank you for your original post (# 218), which was well stated.
I’m one of the minority on Free Republic who’s not completely sold on DeSantis. I do give him credit for doing a mostly good job as Governor but he has made some mistakes. But more importantly than his record as Governor of Florida, I don’t believe he’s in the same category as Trump. It all comes down to independence, and I believe Trump is the only one out there who is not beholden to the powers that be. Up until he ran for Governor of Florida, DeSantis’s career in Congress was marked by an unwillingness to take any meaningful steps to stand up to the RINO’s who control the Party. DeSantis happened to by my representative when he was in Congress. I remember watching to see if he would have the courage to go on record as opposing John Boehner’s leadership, only to be disappointed time and time again.
I don’t believe you can judge whether DeSantis is part of the club (i.e. is an Establishment controlled RINO) or not merely by looking at his record as Governor. This is just a theory, but I’m of the opinion that Establishment Republicans are given some leeway by party leadership to govern as Conservatives on the state level It’s how they are able to establish their “cred” with the Conservative base. The big prize for party bigwigs is the Federal Government, not state governments. I think Youngkin is a case in point, although only time will tell for sure. Youngkin had the financial backing of the GOP. That has to make one suspicious. Youngkin was allowed to campaign on a few hot button issues which, in the grand scheme of things, mattered little to party bigwigs. It’s clear that they’re trying to build him up as a Conservative Superstar that could run against Trump in 2024. While DeSantis’s ties to the Establishment are not as clear, I’m suspicious.
Think of all the Conservative “Darlings” who have come and gone in the last ten years. Does anyone remember Bobby Jindal? Mr. Super-Conservative who represented the future of Conservatism, until he showed his true colors when he ran in 2016. There was a time when most of us here, myself included, thought Paul Ryan was the principled Conservative he pretended to be. Same with Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz. While Cruz is sometimes still useful to the cause, does anyone look at him the same way as they did when he first came on the scene? To me, DeSantis has all the hallmarks of turning out the same way as those just mentioned.
If it was easy to find candidates with the toughness and independence of Trump, we wouldn’t have had to have waited all this time to find him.
