We haven’t had any problems with ours (yet), thankyou for the heads up though, I’ll keep my eyes peeled.

I just talked with Mrs Saturn, she wanted to know if you were dehydrating something acidic, or cleaning it with viniger?

the main point though is we are going to see massive inflation of food and gas prices, just like Germany is....Germany apparently is planning on increasing food prices TONITE by 50%....

it can and probably will happen here....

I honestly don't know how much more I need....my dtr and her husband have a garden and chickens, and have generous neighbors who help supply plants, etc...my son however, lives chaotic and although I have offered to buy them a freezer, he didn't want one ...my grandson is very fussy....he and his girlfriend live together and have 4 kids together....

from what I am hearing, a freeze dryer is the way to go....very expensive, but it keeps food for decades and saves a lot of the nutrition value.....until then, I too can, dehydrate, and freeze....

Let me know what things are like.

Here in NH, some stores have a few bare spots but generally, no problem at all.

However, I have enough canning jars that I am thinking I will be pressure canning some more chicken.

so here in eastern Washington, our Costco is fully stocked and their gas price went DOWN to $3.99 while our local Fred Meyer is at $4.44....shelves generally are full....

but every thing is up...distilled water up $.30 a gallon....I can't even look at steak....I buy the loss leaders....every store has them....buy them and stock them...

Thanks for your reply, and, answers.

Did you purchase your sealing machine from the same company you purchased the FD machine? If not, do you have a name, or link?

Will it seal any size Mylar bag?

Thanks, again.

Costco is now out of the non-gmo blue corn meal I bought 20 #s of, a few months ago. :-(

Was going to get some more, for sis and her family. Oh, well. Glad I got it, while they had it.

Going to pressure can some more beef, this week.

I’m planning on pressure canning more chicken since that’s primarily what I eat.

It’s a USV32 Chamber Vacuum Sealer from Avid Armor. Believe it takes up to one gallon mylar bags. So far it’s worked great. I think they just released a newer model too.

Hope that helps!

Trying to decide whether to go with pints, this time, rather than quarts.

For space, and....just because...lol. (I have 2 cases of jars.)

Any thoughts, on either size?

I have plenty of quarts canned (stew, chicken, beef, etc.).

TIA.

I go by what’s available.

I guess I prefer quarts for beef, but for turkey, I do pints. Mr mm is not a big fan of turkey soup although when he’s not feeling well, it sits well with him.
