The US consumes 22m barrels of oil per day. 3 million is 13.6% of total requirements. It should be made up through US production. SloJoe potato head can do this though EO. Will he? NO.

Good point, but, for some reason both tankers stopped, and anchored for about a week. Then yesterday they resumed their shipping. That raises the question, why?

Also, Beijing Spirit stated its voyage from a Russian port, and Elli did not. Elli is on its way to Corpus Christi, while Beijing Spirit was rerouted from Philadelphia to Quebec CA.

So, what’s a Harbor Master supposed to think? Anyhow, yes, there is some slack in the timing.

All commercial shipping is required to have AIS.

My problem is that I refuse to pay. I only have a small sailboat, so I don’t need it. Of course that could change, depending on where I decide to vacation. So, the Russian oil shipments are out of range for me,and probably most everyone else at this forum as well, at least for the time being.

Beijing Spirit is now unloading at the Melilli oil terminal in Italy, instead of Philadelphia, USA.
