My brother-in-law is an attorney, went to law school with the former mayor of a major city in CA and has acted as a 'kitchen advisor' to him. He use to donate regularly to Democrat politicians in California, his state of residence. He was hoping to be nominated for a judgeship.
He is dyed in the wool conservative, but played the game to try and get that spot. His name was put forward to the Governor, but he did not get the nod.
He stopped donating after that.
Because sooner or later these criminals hit the number that buys them sex with children as per the Nxivm cult that Senator Kirsten Gillibrand denied knowing about only to have it come to light that her father lobbied for them and Kirsten herself attended a dinner at a Nxvim VIP table with none other than co-founder Nancy Salzman who was later convicted for her crimes.
