Take a recording of swarms of mosquitos, hornets, and flies and slow the recordings down slightly to human pitch range and voila....a Ligeti masterpiece...LOL!

The slowed down swarms of insects music you hear though out 2001 A space odyssey. Jerry Goldsmith had written a first score that many now think was very good but the director rejected for Ligeti’s spooky otherworldly work.
