Iraqi war casualties, civilian and Iraqi troops... 100,000
Physical damage ..massive

Ukrainian casualties ...5000.
Physical damage...limited

Maybe, just maybe, the Russians strategy is a bit different. Ya think Russia could have used the “shock and awe” tactic if they had chosen?

“The Chechens didn’t have much foreign support...”

Massacring scores of schoolchildren at Beslan didn’t help their cause any.

It’s like asking American troops to invade and burn Canadian cities to the ground.

Kudos that you were able to hibernate through February 2022, when the Canadians led by Princess Justine Castreau turned Fascist, showing us Americans exactly why our Constitution addresses ex post facto laws and bills of attainder.

Or did you not notice that the exact same crowd screaming to cancel the Canadian truckers are screaming to cancel ordinary Russian people?

The Iraqi war casualties were over a decade, and mostly inflicted by Iraq insurgents against their countrymen. The Russians have killed 5,000 Ukrainians in just over a week.

I still hear crickets to your question.

Yugoslavia is a vastly more complicated ethic mess

Srbrenica was bad activity of ethnic hatred by milosevic.

Ukrainians have a much better ethical story suffering holodomor and more.

Let’s stop rationalizing Russia’s bad actions.

Yeh. To answer ‘I should’ would mean objection to Cluntoon’s illegal war. Maybe Zhang Fei can give his learned opinion, which woukld prob be along the leans ‘what relevance does Kosovo have to Ukraine/Russia’. Well it is friggin relevant because it shows how the U.S backs separatists when it’s suits them. Kurds for example. The largest ethnic group in the world without their own state. Promised a state in the aftermath of ww1. Multiple times helping Uncle Sam defeat nasties. But the. U.S not interested in a state for them. Don’t wanna accept the Turks and Iranians of all people. So Russians in Ukraine want out. Who would they call on to help? Hmmm maybe claim they are really Albanians and see if Nato will become their airforce and bomb Ukraine.

I stand corrected... Per Wikipedia and other multiple sources...

“An estimated 151,000 to 1,033,000 Iraqis died in the first three to five years of conflict.”

I guess Russia has a lot of killing to do for you to call it a successful war plan.

Wasn’t Americans who killed most of those people. And certainly not with artillery firing randomly into populated areas.

The Hajis used to detonate car bombs and stage suicide bomb attacks in crowds of Shiites or Sunnis who were judged insufficiently devout. Can’t blame us for deaths our enemy caused. That would be as if you blamed US troops for the Holocaust. If only we hadn’t fought Hitler, he wouldn’t have been driven to kill 6m Jews.

The Iraq Body Count project (IBC) documented a higher number of civilian deaths up to the end of the major combat phase (May 1, 2003). In a 2005 report, using updated information, the IBC reported that 7,299 civilians are documented to have been killed, primarily by U.S. air and ground forces.

BY MAY 1, 2003.... Weeks, not years.

Russia is not trying yet.

You should tell that to the Russian guys getting killed. Maybe they can come back to life and try again.

Got any accolades for those who still don’t accept being cut out of their country by pious Nato

Why don't you ask this guy, he was President at the time. He wasn't very popular with FReepers.
