(Reuters) – Russia could cut gas supplies via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline to Germany, but it has not made such a decision yet, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said on Monday.

So, instead of sanctions AGAINST Russia, a big FU in Cyrillic to anyone not on Russia’s side.
Well, that’s turnabout for ya.

It’s almost like Biden wants to be under the thumb of Russia and Putin? Maybe he wants Russia to take over Ukraine and Putin has promised not to share all the evidence of the Biden family side hustle? lol

Japan went to war with the US over an oil embargo.

That’s got to be like 90% of their sales.

This is a weird war.
* Russia pumps oil to Germany to power factories that are making weapons to kill Russians.
* Germany is sending Russia money for that oil. Russia will use that money to buy weapons to kill Ukrainians
It shows that in both countries profits are valued more than human lives.

Nordstream 1 is full, all the time. Stopping NS1 would disrupt Germany’s economy and daily life, big time. Our problems would be small potatoes in comparison. Trump warned them in no uncertain terms four/five years ago. Dumb Farts sat with their thumbs up their a— and did nothing. Now they are scrambling just like our own Idiot Vegetable in the white house.

Funny - Pelosi and Biden are talking about cutting off Russian oil, and Russia is talking about cutting off Russian oil.

"Stopping NS1 would disrupt Germany’s economy and daily life, big time."
**********
Germany is so dependent on Russian energy that cutting off the supply risks sparking social unrest, its economy minister has admitted.
Robert Habeck, former leader of the Green Party, refused to support an embargo on Russian imports given Germany’s heavy reliance on the supplies.
“I would even speak out against it, because we would threaten the social peace in the republic with that,” he said.

There’s a video online of Trump at the UN scolding and warning Germany about its dependence on Russian energy - and Germany’s UN delegation laughing and shaking their heads.

Long ago, the idea was that capitalism would bring peace throughout the world because everyone would have an economic stake in avoiding the high cost of war.
Then we were told that democracy would lead to peace, as the people would realize that their voices are always heard, and that leaders would always put the best interest of the people into their policy.
Now we have two countries, and varying degrees of capitalism and democracy going at it in a full-scale war, while capitalist democracies profit from both sides.
