Feel free to sacrifice your children to to Eastern European corruption. Count me and mine out.

Amen. Well Said. Ukraine was Russia's kleptocracy, and then in 2014, the CIA switched it to America's deep state kleptocracy.

parasites like Hunter Biden and Chris Kerry quickly took over the strip-mining of the Ukraine people where the other Ukraine and Russian oligarchs had left off

Biden and Clinton talk about protecting democracy - what a load of horseshit!

Russia has hundreds of self propelled artillery pieces/tanks WITHIN RANGE OF KIEV.

And the Ukrainians haven’t sent a single bird to greet them.

And not a couple of Battalions of Javelin throwers either.

That’s a LOT of bang to let camp on your front porch.

Maybe the Ukranians don’t want to fight them on open ground, i.e. ground favorable to tanks.

In another day or so, Ukraine just might have sufficient time to get the Javelins, and time, and cover and concealment to set up the mother of all ambushs.

If they get into the city, expect snipers and Javelins to de deployed in depth; along with lots of mines and molotov cocktails being thrown from buildings. Urban warfare always favorS the defense.

Taking out air defenses in a large city is not so easy, not with larger ground-based fi,re against helicopters. Snipers with .50 cal sniper rifles and machine guns can do a lot of damage to a low flying helicopter.

Even a RPG can take out a low flying helicoper..

Not saying it it is going to happen, but it will not be easy for thr Russians in Kiev.

“Urban warfare always favorS the defense.”

It really depends on how much damage the offense is willing to inflict.

Artillery has a sobering effect. And it can be continuous for days.

It’s not going to be pitched combat.

This column will split up soon and deploy to both sides and execute encirclement. Then they will probe and probe and probe. Always retreating and generating headlines about heroic resistance.

And the food runs out and the probes eat up the ammo. Then it all happens . . . somewhat gently. They are in no hurry. They and the Ukraine generals went to the same academies. They all know the outcome of this.

Sounds like they scraped up some replacements for all the troops and equipment they’ve lost thus far.

Maybe an A-10 is harder to bring down than in the past. A young USAF Captain from my wife’s hometown (Moline, IL) perished in his A-10 during ‘read my lips’ Bush’s Kuwait war.

I remember the young man’s father ripping W over the Iraq war, in an op-ed in the local paper back then.

If I was a Belarus or Russian soldier, I’d be very worried about ambushes. May take another day or two to get the stingers and Javelins set up for an ambush. Javelins are fire and forget, so the fuss shooting them can get to cover before the Russians can respond.

Even so, the standoff of the Javelins is multiples of the range of a Russian tank.

Snipers can take out trucks and drivers from 1.5 - 2 km.

With narrow streets, dealing with molotov cocktails, and I’ve seen some that are at least one gallons, Many of which have been turned into homemade napalm. Probably have a 10’ damage zone. If they hit a tank or APC, they will be put out of action.

Russians can also expectations of sniper and ambushes in the cities.

I figure you’re right but the invasion might have been the easy part. The occupation may be the hard part.
