Well, then do something about it.

And that goes for Belarus, as well. Lukashenko should be upside down in a gas station by now.

A communist party Duma deputy just said publicly that what he intended with his vote was to support an operation to protect DPR/LPR, an operation as a shield for peace, he did not intend to support the bombing of Kiev

While the protest numbers in a country of 180million 145 million were in the low thousands [...]

Factual error.

also, I am seeing commenters on Russian social media just in abject denial about what is happening, that Ukrainian nazis are faking all these videos and pictures about what’s happening in the war in Ukraine and that Russian troops are going in unopposed

the control by Putin of Russian media has been thick and heavy-handed, what will the reaction of these Russians be when they learn that this is a very bloody operation and Russian troops were not welcomed

Any “news story” with an exclamation mark in the headline is, um, questionable.

The propaganda is large in this one.

I feel bad for those Russian conscripts who were told the same, and end up with several bullets inside them when the Ukrainian villagers are not as welcoming as they were told.

One man told the BBC: ‘There is a sense of horror and a sense of shame about what our authorities are doing. In my circle of friends this is a very common feeling. I never voted for those who are in power now and I did what I could, what a person in Russia , Canada , New Zealand , Australia , France , The USA is currently able to do to affect political life — went to protests. But I don’t think there will be any now. Everyone is much too scared.’…

There is no truth in Pravda.

It’s not much better here now than in Russia, I’m sorry to say.

So what?
Americans are for more furious with Creepy Joe for first of all stealing the elections, then totally running the worst presidency in history.

Yup. It’s a sign of sensationalism, which I ignore and turn the page. Same thing with ALL CAPS.

Yeah. Sure.

WMD’s in Iraq.

Obama said we’ve got to have NATO bomb Libya with the U.S. “leading from behind” over unproven allegations that Gaddafi was going to attack his own citizens.

Obama/Biden said the Arab Spring would be so wonderful.

The MSM attacked Trump for pulling troops out of Syria saying it was a bad idea.

The numbers are very low. If 100,000 people showed up, Putin would be gone tomorrow, and the invasion canceled. It looks like Putin has at least the benefit of the doubt, for now. If casualties start mounting, that could change.

Putin’s window is very short here.

The problem is if he starts to feel desperation, what does he do?

I’m afraid it’s up to some sane Generals to stop the worst from happening.

If by the worst, you mean he’s gonna start the block-by-block destruction of Ukraine’s cities with artillery fire, I have a feeling those fears will come to fruition. Losing in Ukraine vs losing SWIFT - it’s a no-brainer. To cement his place in history, he *needs* this win. Putin’s generals are hand-picked for loyalty, not scruples. They will likely obey his commands.
