“Hey Dad, I think I won an argument on the Internet!”
“Son, Good job!”
We bought a large screen LG TV some years ago, it failed within a year, returned it, and vowed to never buy a LG product again. We switched to Samsung, and now have several Samsung TVs that have never given us a problem over eight years now.
“2000 W / 120V = 16.667A.
That will trip the breaker for any standard circuit.”
Not with ordinary use on a 15 Amp breaker.
Not at all on a 20 Amp breaker.
“. Most home outlets are 15A.”
Most of my 120v circuits are 20 Amp.
“So utilities got their wish of EVs, but now are short on power to recharge them at night.”
The average utility in the US still has about 50% excess capacity at night.
“Ford pinto.......the Jimmy Carter of cars.”
If you believe Mother Jones and Mike Wallace ...
NHTSA - 4.5 fiery deaths per year
Mother Jones - 900 fiery deaths per year
Mike Wallace - Thousands of fiery deaths per year
We are 5 of 6 on Samsung TV’s. The 65” is nine years running.
The one that failed was the cheaper 43” covered by Costco with full refund. Two years of free use!
We like Costco also. Returned the LG large-screen TV to Costco. They gave us a full refund, which we used to buy a larger better Samsung TV the same day, and pocketed about $400 difference as TVs got cheaper since we bought the LG. Never a problem returning stuff to Costco.
