Rand’s endorsement doesn’t do much for me. I’ll see who Trump endorses.
Like I say, sex corruption is a problem, but I need to make sure the guy is a MAGA vote.
Do you have other information on him about his MAGA tendencies?
Mandel is way too tainted, far beyond the sex scandal, but the payoff with campaign donations from what I understand. This screw-up not only cost us a Senate seat, but a majority. That he’d withdraw on that basis back in 2018 as unacceptable then and now it’s somehow OK in 2022 is amazing cognitive dissonance and arrogance. That can’t be rewarded.
As for Gibbons, I’ll say I haven’t heard anything negative about him. That’s why I was asking if you had heard anything. Although I was wary of Rand Paul early on (and I was never a fan of his father), he’s been a very pleasant surprise. Given that a lunatic Never Trumper almost murdered him, I give him extra points on that. He’s taken his lumps for the cause. If he thinks Gibbons is aces and we’ve not heard any bad news from him, I say this guy deserves the shot. All the others have clear-cut red flags.
