Of course the reason we are being invaded at the border is because Russian-backed government’s like Honduras are sending people north in caravans as a form of blackmail or warning. If they go into Ukraine and we try to oppose them they will open up the floodgates. Where on earth did you get the notion Honduras government was "Russian backed"?
Honduras has been a reliable US client state since before the Reagan administration. Their Supreme Court used the military to remove a leftist President in 2010. Its one of the few countries which formally recognizes Taiwan.
If anyone is competing for Honduras attention, its China not Russia.

I have to say that election was probably still more honest and secure than the one in the USA in 2020.
