The hero rabbi held hostage in his Texas synagogue has credited active-shooter training for helping him save his congregants — revealing Monday that he threw a chair at the terrorist so they could finally escape.
Rabbi Charlie Cytron-Walker said the training he got from police and the FBI kicked in toward the end of the terrifying 10-hour standoff Saturday at his Congregation Beth Israel in Colleyville.
“In the last hour of our hostage crisis, the gunman became increasingly belligerent and threatening,” the rabbi said in a statement of British terrorist Malik Faisal Akram, who “wasn’t getting what he wanted.”

They were sponsoring the hostage taker.
Agree
Next time call a Rabbi!!!
The anti-gun lobby is hailing him as a hero, but he is a left wing, anti Israel hero to them. His congregants had complained about the fact that he wouldn’t allow them to be armed, and it looks like to me that he got damn lucky..
“British terrorist”
Sounds like could be part of a 1776 headline.
And still kicking:
“Richard Samet Friedman
November 1, 1944 (age 77)”
He’s a social hero, no doubt.
What motive do they attribute it to?
In a normal situation in America, any one of a dozen swat teams in the Dallas-Fort Worth area could’ve easily handled this. But the corrupt FBI needs good PR. The simple fact is, hostage rescue team is not on a par with most large city SWAT teams. They simply don’t get enough experience. Additionally, they spend so much time trying to pretend they are an elite military unit that they train in a lot of useless adventure skill sets... scuba, jumping, etc.
Not to mention that a regular FBI agent is about 40 times less likely to get involved in an officer involved shooting than a regular city police officer. They simply do not go to the violent calls in progress. They are OK to investigate afterwards, but they never go into a bar fight or a domestic, or encounter the guy coming out of the armed robbery.
Actually, hostage situation almost never involve the feds. 99.9% of them are handled at the state level by the local swat team. Don’t know where you got that idea?
Heck, a 125 grain .38 would have been better.
But if you don’t have any of those, chairs can be pretty good.
Fire extinguishers, too. Can put a real dent in the dome, if deployed with sufficient gusto.
Wasn’t a British terrorist by the name of “Steele” involved in the Russian Collusion scandal, to discredit Trump sponsored by Hillary Clinton?
“What motive do they attribute it to?”
due to massive blowback, they did a 180 a few hours later admitting it was a terrorist act that targeted Jews ... duh ...
I’m starting to think this was an attempt by the government to shake up the Texas Primary, which is in about 6 weeks.
In particular, they may have had some plan to pin the blame on Abbott to make his Primary a bit more ‘exciting’, since if he wins his Primary, he’s a shoe-in in November.
It would certainly fit the pattern and it would explain why both the UK and US let him come here unimpeded.
Yep, a real “Leg-Before-Wicket” English Person. /s
Jews 1
Sand Uyghurs 0
Bobby Knight would approve.
“I’m surprised the FBI didn’t gun the rabbi down.”
Maybe they thought the terrorist was the Rabbi?
Throwing a chair, yet no firing at him escaping. Something doesn’t add up.
