Our military will be drug into politics, just like our intelligence and law enforcement agencies have.

Their collective jobs should be defending our rights and our liberties, not serving the political interests of a particular party.

Amazing how these idiotic pus bag “leaders” use the national guard to cover all of their lies and failures.

I would quit the national guard.

Calling in military assets to fix problems is a disturbing trend.

My first thought on this.

Prog states call out NG to do the dirty work.

Free States call out NG for real emergencies or border support.

I wonder if NG commanders can "Just Say No."

.

Maybe, but they’ll ultimately do whatever their paymasters tell them to do.

To add to yours: The give and take numbers are very convoluted. Military funding is concentrated in States with military bases, so should that count? It helps the local economy, State taxes, etc, but everyone benefits by the military.
Entitlements.. FL has lots of retirees, so all those people who paid in to SS and FICA and such, paid in in other States, but then pull $$ into FL. So are those other States more giving, and FL more taking?

And so on..

It’s not my opinion. Even YOUR source, the Rockefeller Institute, states that until a couple of years ago California WAS a donor state. Even now California is hardly sucking from the teat of South Dakota:

“Notably, high-tax California was no longer on the list of donor states, although just barely — taxpayers there receive, on average, $12 more from the federal government than they pay out to it.”

Oops, you didn’t read the 2021 report!

“New York’s shortfall in 2019 is larger than that of second-ranked New Jersey (-$10.3 billion) and third-ranked Massachusetts (-$9.9 billion) combined. California and Connecticut round out the list of the top five states with the least favorable balances.“

“Barely” or not, you stated an opinion (yes, it was an opinion) without sourcing, qualification, context or time period that “It might surprise you to learn that California sends MORE tax revenue to DC than it gets in return”.

I’m glad to see you are finally looking at some data now.

Yes, California has been a donor state, but that’s not what you said.

California’s balance of payments on a per capita basis is marginal, and is likely a transitory situation — in my opinion.

With the ongoing exodus of people and business from California how long do you think it will be before it reverts back to being a recipient state again? The tax base is fleeing the state thereby shrinking the amount of federal taxes paid by Californians.

Do you work for Dr. Fauci? Because you’re moving the goalposts just like him. First, I showed you how you were WRONG using your own source, and now you say that doesn’t really matter because in the future it’s all gonna change. Heads you win, tails I lose eh?

By the way the reason why I posted to you to begin with was because I had looked at the data several times over the last several years when Freepers posted the same fake news. This is the first time in recent memory there’s been any suggestion that California’s getting more tax revenue from the federal government than they were sending back to Washington in taxes.

I don’t understand how Fauci gets brought into a discussion about donor states. Whatever, let’s get back on topic which is that California was a donor state until it wasn’t. And it will probably revert back to being a recipient state again if it continues losing productive people and businesses. That’s it in a nutshell really.
