No, he is in chase for record Open wins. He will probably be allowed to play, if I were betting. Beside, people like to make a big deal out of this. Sure, it is not a five star hotel, and I wouldn't stay there, but it not like it is staying somewhere in downtown San Francisco.

“his lawyers claim”. I’m waiting to see evidence that is true. If it is, somebody in the government seems to have stuffed up badly and given him inaccurate information. It’s certainly not impossible that happened. But at this point, I’m waiting to see the court makes of this evidence.

9 Jan: Youtube: 2m58s: Sky News Australia: Tennis Australia boss vows to reveal full story behind Djokovic saga
Tennis Australia boss Craig Tiley has vowed to tell the full story behind the Novak Djokovic detention saga – in a video leaked to the media.

In an internal video obtained by the Herald Sun, Mr Tiley said Tennis Australia has been doing everything it possibly could.

Mr Tiley said he is working closely with Djokovic and his team, as well as other players facing similar situations.

He vowed to reveal more information once the lawsuit Novak Djokovic has launched to stay in the country is complete.

FROM SKY VIDEO -

Mr Tiley said he is working closely with Djokovic and his team, ***as well as OTHER PLAYERS facing similar situations.

this story ain’t over yet. Tiley stated early on that there were 26 applications for exemptions, and only a ‘HANDFUL’ were approved.

then we had the Czech tennis player Renata Voracova dragged into the story, as if she and one of her entourage were the ‘HANDFUL’.

CLEARLY THERE ARE MORE PLAYERS INVOLVED.

Kind of explains the hard on about banning guns, now doesn’t it.

The Founders knew what they were doing because they lived/fought through it.

The Australian bureaucracy is famous for being Byzantine, insubordinate and each department is jealous of every other department and protective of its right to fascist control. I am not the least bit surprised.

I can't argue with that - but I've just posted another article discussing what this document seems to be - and if that is accurate, the document in question doesn't do what Djokovic and his lawyers seem to think it does. The document would have relied on his claim of having supporting documentation, which would only be checked on his arrival in Australia.

Do you believe that guns are banned in Australia? There are more guns now in the hands of Aussie gun owners than before the restrictions. And, the average gun owner now has about double the number of guns they had before the restrictions.

I am betting he will be allowed to stay after the hearing.

Must gun owners in Australia register their guns? Are private sales or gifting of a gun by private individuals allowed, or are there some requirements with such private transfers?

They have to be registered. You can sell to another person, but it has to be transferred through a licensed firearm dealer. When the restrictions went into place, almost all serious gun owners kept their guns and registered them. The main problem is that semi-automatic rifles can only be obtained by professional hunters. Shotguns and pistols are OK, but must be registered. Most serious gun owners joined a gun club.Almost all farmers keep guns on the farm. There is also a minor political party, Shooters,Fishers and Farmers. https://www.shootersfishersandfarmers.org.au/
