Aside.
Did Holly Golightly actually believe the things she spouted? That was not my impression. I thought her typical of her times, shallow, alienated and overloaded with affectations, pretending a sophistication she knew she lacked, and knowing full well she was playing a role. She told blatant lies whenever the opportunity arose. Most of her pretense to depth was carried-forward adolescent rejection of her past circumstances, which she refused even to face until confronted.
I could be wrong. *shrug*
An interesting article. I don’t share the angst at all. We are in challenging times but with challenge comes opportunities. Great and outstanding opportunities! Note that while the federal government goes crazy on the latest left fad, the red states have an opportunity to gain power in the de facto sense.
So true
One of the worst irritants to me is the current inclination to brag that, “I don’t believe in conspiracies.” Conspiracy is by definition one of the most common happenings considering that two people shoplifting one item together equals a conspiracy. Most people are too uneducated and such careless “thinkers” that they don’t even know the meaning of their own words.
