The sunset festivities can get pretty wild near the buoy. Lots of drunks.

Doesn't look very flammable to me.

It was more scorched than burned.

Idea: Paint it brown, put big ears on the sides, and an ugly sculpted face of Saint George Floyd and add a sign:
Southernmost point. Last chance to kneel before the idol George Floyd before Cuba.
Charge Dems to have their picture taken there. Corporate CEOs can have framed pictures for their executive suites behind their chairs.

LOL
I was just talking about that thing yesterday, suggesting AOC should go down there and scream at the 90 miles of ocean toward Cuba

When I was down there, I was amazed how long the line was to take a picture beside that marker
I just drove on by. After I had to stop and wait for a 4 foot iguana to cross the road

To satisfy my curiosity, I looked this up on Google Maps. It’s actually not the southernmost point. That would be about a quarter mile down the beach. Google even has a pin there showing “Actual Southernmost Point”.

Trivia question. Of the 50 US states, which is:
1. The farthest South
2. The farthest North
3. The farthest East
4. The farthest West

During the Trump administration, people said “Merry Christmas” again. Under Biden it’s back to … happy holidays…. and even burning public Christmas trees.

Not actually a buoy but it supposedly marks the southernmost point in mainland US and a big tourist attraction. Be curious who the sick nutcases were that would even consider doing something like this. Can’t imagine there is a political angle here?

Yeah, it won’t burn and doesn’t float. With the traffic that thing gets it has to be concrete, steel, or maybe indestructrium to survive. I expect someone has a set of stencils to keep it spiffed up from the wet foot-dry foot traffic?
