It might or might not be the vaccines. It could be some other causes. But I find it bizarre that we are seeing this phenomenon only in 2021.
If you have your own explanation, or believe that this is nothing new and has been happening before, I am all ears.

There’s been an unusual amount of soccer players collapsing on the field during games. People are noticing, or at least that is what is being theorized as they don’t believe they’ve seen this before.
That said, I don’t have year-over-year data.
I think the reason for the apparently large number of affected athletes is because of a huge flaw in the reporting of all things Covid.
Since the beginning of Covid, political weaponization and profiteering agendas have obliterated any semblance of statistical accountability - and have given acceptance to all manner of fallacy and corruption of information has Covid.
One of the mist egregious examples is the non-stop reporting of anecdotal examples by both pro-vax and anti-vax advocates - and by both Covid alarmists and Covid pacifists.
Athletes are celebrities, so of course we are going to see anecdotal reporting of their cases.
We all need to stop placing undue significance in every case where an actor, singer, athlete or politician catches Covid - and whether or not they were fully vaccinated - it is meaningless.
We all need to stop believing Pfizer, Fauci, Biden or any other “expert” who fails to back up their words with actual science - especially when they have obvious conflicts of interest.
Only honest statistics can give us useful information - until we get that we are better off just relying on our own common sense.
No “official” explanation is available yet but given the duplicity of government agencies and officials, an explanation should never be expected as the data is ignored.
One explanation is the increased heart beat of athletes causes the graphene oxide to accumulate and damage cells in the aortic periphery.

Male athletes in top physical condition also tend to have higher testosterone levels which some research suggests could be a problem with these vaccines.
I think it’s that athletes are more likely to submit to getting vaxxed, so higher numbers of the vaxxed are going to include more injuries and deaths, especially in a younger population that seems to be more at risk from the vaxxes.
Or is it that young folks in sports get more news reports about them than the average young person, and if all adverse vaccine reactions of all young folks were reported as well as are those for young folks in sports the full extent of the adverse reactions would not be avoidable in the LameStreamMedia.
OK, I will say it, because it is obvious and my own “little” brother in his 50s and an airline pilot for decades with no heart related medical problems was grounded after he got the Pfizer. This happened when he went to his 6 month 1st class FAA mandatory flight physical. The pilot's union has lost more pilots to heart attack this year than ever before... many, many times more. It is not just young men and athletes who get swollen and inflamed hearts from the clot shots. People are free to flame away.

The graph in the article is very confusing. The article repeatedly says that 108 soccer players and coaches died this year, and the title above the graph says the same thing. But the graph itself appears to show only about 21 deaths, based on the scale at the left-hand side.

If you are only seeing it in 2021, its probably because you have only been looking at it since 2021 - sudden cardiac death in young athletes has been a leading cause of death for young athletes for a long time - just because you haven’t been paying attention, doesn’t mean its new.
