Decades ago, I had $18K of student loans, and I paid them off in a year. I was working overseas, and thus had US income tax exclusion.

What an incredible boost to my income it was not to pay the NY State and Federal government extortion.

That realization is what made me a conservative/libertarian.

Many of these students take out college loans and then use the money to buy cars, clothes, food, etc. I’ve heard this directly from several of them.

I’m with you with this! I paid off my $20,000 student loan working as a nurses aide and then as an accounts payable clerk with $ 8.00 an hour job. And I was single! Living alone. The AOC’s of this country are selfish, spoiled brats.
