And just how did he manage to do that, given Tesla was tiny and nearly bankrupt in 2008 and after, while GM Ford were huge and had all the political influence?
Now Joe. Don’t upset the resident lefturds on this site.
I get it, but it just seems ironic that he is now protesting against the policies that made him the wealthiest man in the world. He is brilliant, so perhaps this is some sort of political reverse psychology. We’ll see how it plays out.
Anybody that supported EVs to fight climate change had an audience and influence with DC.
Same with the ICE(Internal combustion engine) companies and the fossil fuel companies who have received subsidies for decades.
The federal government had to save them towards the end of the Bush presidency.
Not quite. He is protesting against the new special subsidies for cars made by unions, which is nonsense not just against Tesla, its war against the vast majority of American workers who are NOT in unions.

“Based on data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), 14.3 million or 10.8% of US employees were in unions last year. That’s just over half of the 20.1% in 1983, when there were 17.7 million employed, waged, and salaried workers in unions.”
yup, they really do mean to eat the rich...
The difference in the ‘tax credit’ between UNION companies VS TESLA is outright DISCRIMINATION.
$12,500 VS $7,500.
Surely that will be ruled illegal if passed.
Interesting. I’m on board with that. Thanks for the perspective.
