Buttplug: Families who buy electric vehicles 'never have to worry about gas prices again' Because everyone knows electricity is free, and with the limited range and long recharge times people with electric vehicles won't be driving as much anyway.

Hot stuff. May have to require vehicular sprinkler systems.

At least in the USA. Doubtful in less-developed nations where a lot of the required minerals and metals originate.

Just have to worry about where to get charged when the gauge is near “empty”. This could be a real problem in winter when the cold saps battery capacity by half or more and you need to use a heater and defroster.

That seems like a very narrow opinion. What is not factored into your chart is the increasing number of manufacturers, the eventual resale markets and the dead owners disappeared on the highways. You don't think hackers can come up with the digital equivalent of a slim jim?

Ask folks in Texas what happened to their spot electricity rates last February.
Or in England this year - or in Calif, how does suburbia or rural America charge a vehicle during spot blackouts caused by power companies cutting power due to high winds in the winter and spring or lack of ability to increase the grid power in the summer?
