These ‘villages’ are slums. Sick people should not be left in them.
And they don’t generally want to be.
They want the right to live there on their ancestral lands - they expect the government to help them do so and part of that help has long involved taking them elsewhere for medical treatment when needed.
This is not a violation of their rights. It’s an acknowledgement of them.
Some call them slums, that’s a similar thought process to Indian reservations here. A lot of people need medical help and some desire it. If they WANT to go, that’s understandable, if they don’t want to leave their home, slum or not, it doesn’t matter, they shouldn’t be forced to surrender to someone else’s idea of what their rights should be. It wasn’t right when we did it here in the United States to Native Americans, nor when we forced Asian Americans into camps in WW2. There has to be more to “unalienable rights” than “It’s for your own good” and “Because we said so”.
