I’ve often thought....how do you tell if the people on social media are real, or what you see in videos is real? So it’s not hard to imagine media has the same potential, and does, of creating a reality that actually isn’t real or truth at all. Rather it’s now an instrument operating explicitly for human consumption...possibly some reality but primarily self designed/created.
Sane with certain video games, in some sense.
Many of the “people” are probably nothing more than software bots with a created avatar.
I think it’s even beyond that.

Don’t forget the Duke LaCrosse affair. 88 of their professors pulled the same crap. Cost them nothing.
Did the Lacross team try to sue?
