So a virus that kills 1 in 100,000 is the same as a virus that kills 2,000 to 5,000 in 100,000 and cripples tens of thousands more?

I had a long term stay in a children's hospital in 1954 and had a front row seat to the horror caused by polio. Equating the two illnesses pisses me off.
