Phony strawman. No one is saying the world is dependent upon our exports. I agree. But my entire purpose for responding to this piece at all was to refute this line in the original article:

The world is facing the prospect of a dramatic shortfall in food production as rising energy prices cascade through global agriculture, the CEO of Norwegian fertilizer giant Yara International says.

The US may be facing a shortfall. Europe may be facing a shortfall. The rest of the world? Not so much.
