When news was breaking on this last week, I was amazed that all of the media, including Fox, were reflexively sympathizing with Baldwin for this "terrible accident". Especially on CNN, the gun was repeatedly referred to as a "prop gun", that had "misfired", which was obvious rubbish. As a certified gun nut, I know a lot of other gun nuts in real life, and the universal reaction was "of course he's culpable, he fired the shot". Full stop. So there's no evidence (so far) that this was a murder, but it was manifestly obvious that he exhibited reckless disregard for the lives of his co-workers and employees on that set just from the basic facts that had been reported. If it had been some unknown local, you can bet he'd be in custody.
