Lockheed Martin has several huge facilities in Texas.
And, today, they just issued the “get the jab or get fired” mandate.
Most federal contractors are going to error on the side of what the federal government tells them to do.
The only way you are actually going to stop that is if you enact immediate and personal consequences and the legislature will probably need to do that.
Probably the biggest consequence is that it gives federal contractor employees a place to go -- any company that is not a federal contractor. Meaning that these contractors have to face losing a large number of their employees and will have much more trouble hiring.
It pretty much gives them every incentive to rubber stamp every possible exemption they can.

It’s not a matter of “liking” him or not. That’s the problem with people and politics. They can’t separate people from their policies. This is why obama was successful. No one cared about his policies. They loved him....his personality andhis skin color.
I support Abbott’s move here but his idiocy throughout the first year of the pandemic sealed the fact that I will never vote for him again. Ever.
Unfortunately, this move is enough for his re-election. If he can make it stick.
