Assuming a straight-line progression in a dynamic system doesn’t seem very scientific to me.

Based on what I see around me here in The Boonies, very few younger people have gone into farming. Those who have are, like the elderly people still farming, are hard workers and really good at what they do. In 400 years, North American society has gone from basically 100% agrarian to perhaps 2% agrarian and an exporter of food. A lot of that transformation has come about due to the mechanization of agriculture, which has greatly reduced the labor requirements of farming.
Oh, but mechanized agriculture creates "greenhouse gases" ...
The only reason for starvation anywhere on this Earth is politicians, and the jackoffs who produced this latest fake study are in that category.

I guess today’s scientists feel it’s a safer bet to make predictions for hundreds of years down the road, long after they are dead and forgotten.

There is a youtube channel by a guy whose family farms 40,000 acres in Saskatchewan. At an average of 46 bushels per acre and 90 1lb loaves of bread can be made from one bushel the total loaves that family grows are 165,500,000.
