Robert E. Lee on Leadership: Executive Lessons in Character, Courage, and Vision
So what are you going to do? Can you at least donate to FR?
“I hate the Confederacy and all it stood for.”
As did your fellow hater Karl Marx. A side by side of his writing and your posts would look the same.
You might want to pick up a copy and see if there’s anything he said that you haven’t:

You chose your freeper name well.
Well, the Media reaction to this TRUTH will be interesting.
While I’m here, a few thoughts.
Nowadays there are People who refer to the Confederates like General Lee, as Traitors. I seriously doubt Southerners at the time thought they were committing Treason by wanting to separate themselves from a Union that they felt was tyrannical in its treatment of them.
The Confederacy sought to separate themselves from the Union for many reasons but they did not seek to Conquer the Northern States in the process. Had they done so, they would have been committing Treason.
The Southern States took a position that the Federal Government was imposing Laws on them that solely benefitted the Northern States. They felt they had no Representation and decided that States Rights trumped the power of the Federal Government.
Separatists yes, Traitors no. Disagree, so be it...
One of the reasons things got to a boiling point had more to do with the North profiteering while the South did the hard work. In other words, the North was making money using the labor of Southern Slaves without having to get their hands dirty in the process.
Never forget, Lincoln said that preserving the Union was the goal, whether Slavery was abolished or not in the process.
The South produced raw Cotton while the North Produced and Exported Textiles made from that same Cotton. Slaves picked Cotton just as poor Southern Whites picked Cotton. Poor Southerners did not have the financial means to own Slaves, yet they are implicated in History as heartless Slaveholders.
Estimates of Whites who actually owned Slaves range from 2% to 5%, while 3/4’s of Southerner’s did not get any direct financial benefit from Slavery’s existence.
I am not discounting the abolition of Slavery as another reason the Civil War took place, but it was not the ONLY reason as many People seem to think. History is lost when the Left controls the Education process in this Country.
The actions of the Left in today’s Society and their fierce loyalty to erasing any History they are uncomfortable with is beyond dangerous, yet here we are. The worst is yet to come.
Rant off. Makes no difference nowadays anyway, just another FReeper forcefully tapping on a Keyboard.
The Republic as our Founders envisioned it is lost to History. Take care of your own. Unless there is a great awakening in this Country, all we can do is thank God we lived in an era when America was still considered a Free Country. As always, I hope I am wrong with that assessment, but I wouldn’t bet the Farm on it.
I did. Stinks like hell when I go to the toilet.
Please don’t move to Idaho
His name was William C. Grace. He wrote The Army Surgeons Manual which is still in use today.
You can buy a copy of it on line.
While I have made an effort of late to restrain ‘’''tongue and post'' as it were I'm going to depart from form that a bit and tell you to shut your f'ing trap and the less I hear from you the better and for your sake I'll return the favor.
Except for that little Gettysburg thing.
I concur, I hate what’s going on with the Left destroying our country.
Many northerners have heard anti-southern propaganda all their lives in the public schools. The hatred goes back to the war between the states.
Our government stripped Lee of his citizenship and confiscated his home. It wasn’t even his home, it was his wife’s home that she had inherited and it was where here parents were buried. They took her land, 1100 acres, and turned it into a cemetery.
Do you admire the northern bankers and politicians who were trying to screw over the southern economy?
Too bad the south didn’t win the war. Had they won they could have built a big wall and it would keep out all the liberal northerners from moving down south.
Too late. Already bought a nice place in Eagle!
Grant wasn't the General at Gettysburg.
Meade was.
And Lee suffered horrendous casualties during Pickett's charge, which forced his hand.
Strategy wise, Lee was far superior to Grant.
The blacks are immeasurably better off here than in Africa, morally, socially , and physically.
The painful discipline they are under going , is necessary for their instruction as a race and I hope will prepare and lead them to better things.
How long their subjugation may be necessary is known and ordered by a wise Merciful Providence . Their emancipation will sooner result from the mild melting of Christianity , than the storms and tempests of fiery Controversy''.- Robert E. Lee, 1856.
Again You should be thrilled as a true hater of all things southern / confederacy. These are the people after your own heart. This is what you want. No sign of southern heritage. Destruction of history as people boil it down to just the simplest of hatred. I’m sure you cheer this statue since it’s confederate.
You will be next. They will cheer for the destruction of your heritage next. Be careful in your hatred of things in the past that you really don’t understand. Oh. That’s right, everyone fighting on the south were deserving of your contempt that you have displayed/voiced for many years. You understand the complex via a simple binary filter.
Good luck.
I’ve been as patient as I can be with you, you absolute horse ass. I don’t hate Southerners but I could make a strong case for admitting to an intense feeling of disgust to you.
It’s pointless to attempt any kind of a rational discussion with you.
So go ahead and continue to think I hate all Southerners.
In fact, hide under your bed. You never know when I’ll ride through the Alabama night spreading raze and ruin before me.
Don’t post to me ever again Reb an in turn I’ll never post to you.
I never said Grant was the commanding general at Gettysburg...to all the “Lee was the greatest general” types, Lee had not lost a major battle to the Union Army until Gettysburg, and his subordinates tried to convince Lee to bypass Meade and head directly for Washington D.C., which if he had done so, would have likely ended the war with a Confederate victory.
After Lee’s blunder and defeat at Gettysburg, the Confederates were in retreat until the war was finally over.
I just get a little tired of the Lee was the greatest crowd...he made mistakes just like the rest.
