Hurricane Rita was the same, power out for weeks. It is miserable this time of year and even with a generator, we could run the frig and fans. Forget anything like a coffee pot or stove or microwave. We unplugged the frig at night long enough to cool a room down for the kids to sleep in.
I wouldn't have come home except I had an essential job at the time. Stay away if you can.

Just the other day IIRC, the wapo was complaining about all that air conditioning we use as part of the problem with "climate change".
And last night on the weather channel they were bemoaning the fact....wait for it....
there
was
no
air conditioning!
