I agree with your assessment. That said, I doubt many of those people know what the actual health risks are for getting covid. I’ve seen polls where younger people gravely overestimate bad health outcomes and death from covid. The PSAs on TV or social media have been limited to wear a mask and get vaccinated. If you look at hospitalization and death rates for K-12, they are almost nonexistent. I bet if more people knew that, more parents would demand masks mandates stop.
