We did, in the past, too. Look at all of the astronauts prior to Shuttle, and even the early Shuttle flights.
The toilet in the American side was broken from her messing with it to make it more female friendly. They were using the one in the Russian side until they became rude. The female was angry that the Russian side offered little privacy. The Russians finally forced the non Russians out of the Soyuz section by force. The non Russians were all having to use space diapers and things were getting dirty and smelly over there. Requests to return her back to earth were refused by nasa units Russia did it for free.
When both Russians were on a spacewalk, supposedly she drilled a hole in an element of the craft that caused it to lose pressure.
That element is ejected and burns up on reentry so it would never be studied back home.
Over objections if the American commander, the Russians fixed the hole with epoxy because ISS runs on very low pressure. The repair held fine. The Russians demanded video to see who took the drill into their quarters, nasa refused.

Politicized organizations use politicized criteria. They won't advance the minority who has "wrongthink," who in their eyes is actually worse than the non-minority. So I'd say the captioned statement could well be true.

From memory, the small hole was poorly drilled - the bit walked and made a mess of it. I guess it would have made too much of a racket to use a punch to start it, like we did in shop class.
So, which member of the crew was least capable with power tools?

Because the poster said NASA picks for diversity and nothing else. Which implies that any time a woman or a minority is picked over a white guy it isn't because they are the best person for the job but solely because they are a woman or a minority. Ergo they can never be the most qualified person. What's hard to understand in that?
