Well, if it weren’t for the fact that most of the victims seem to be women, I’d say it was PMS at work. But it must be climate change. So it’s Al Gore’s fault, not Darksheare’s.

Get yourself a McNab dog. You’ll never lose another chicken to predation. I was losing several a week to Coyotes. After I bought the dog and when he got about 4 months old he started acting like he needed to go outside to pee, instead he took off like a shot out of the door straight to the back pasture where the Coyotes ventured in from. I thought I had sent him to his death.
About 10 minutes later he came back and that was the beginning of the end of my predation problem. The dog knows how many chickens we have and if one doesn’t come back into the coop at night, you know how some hens are, he goes and searches them out and herds them back to the coop. Man, I love that little dog.
This will obviously get a lot worse, as the bears are angry because of Global Warming.
Not to mention the climate change is effecting the growing season forcing the poor bears to spread their geography to find much needed food. poor things.
Not starting a debate and I hate .380s, but I’d bet a mag dump to the head/face area would probably turn a bear around - especially a black bear.
And ya see, them there poly bears up north are pushin’ their range southward-like becausin’ the ice bergs that they ain’t standing on aren’t there anymore, and so that’s pushing the grizzly bears southward-like from where they ain’t there lke the Hudson’s Bay, and so the poor black bears back east and west are bein’ forced to eat women and children and minorities first ....

Actually, as this same distinguished author (Mr. Dean Weingarten) has noted elsewhere, just about any handgun - even a .22 rimfire - is better than no gun at all. Here are the facts:
