It’s all over the internet. So of course it’s true!
Looks like FDA approval for Pfizer in early September.
“Reinfection with the Delta variant is up to around 1 in 6,000 individuals, which is a significant increase over previous variants.”
That is a point that some seem to miss, when talking about vaccine breakthrough cases from Delta - Delta also has higher breakthrough of immunity from natural exposure, for the same reasons (which you listed).
I appreciate the link.
So this attorney Renz doesn’t have a great record so far. First lawsuit he filed was dropped (https://ohiocapitaljournal.com/2021/03/17/covid-deniers-drop-lawsuit-against-health-department-their-130k-legal-fund-remains/), others filed haven’t gone anywhere at this point, and the one with the claimed whistleblower doesn’t appear to have been actually filed yet.
But somehow the first lawsuit raised $130,000 for the legal fees (for filing a lawsuit the judge laughs at and then dropping it?? Good work if you can find it!) and the website you linked has a request for donations right on the homepage. Renz apparently got his law license right as the pandemic was starting and it appears that all he’s been doing with that license is filing nonsense lawsuits that don’t go anywhere (https://www.wtol.com/article/news/politics/state-politics/she-says-vaccines-make-you-magnetized-this-lawmaker-invited-her-testimony-chair-says/512-f0de522b-3bc6-4aff-b48c-678a52ca3e8b).
I’m not going to hold my breath for this one either. If the lawsuit does get filed, let’s see it make it to an actual trial. Meanwhile, don’t forget to keep those donations coming in. Tom Renz needs to roll into court in a nice car.
I’ve seen reports that they are shooting for approval by Labor Day - so they can start being mandated.
Thousands already have. 5,100 pregnancies have been tracked in the CDC’s v-safe program and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists reports that based on the data from v-safe, “no differences have been seen when comparing pregnant individuals participating in the v-safe pregnancy registry with the background rates of adverse pregnancy outcomes.”
Good news, right? We’re all happy to hear that the COVID-19 vaccines don’t impact pregnancy? Right?
That should be feasible, and it’s consistent with what I’ve been talking about since May: that we should see one or both Moderna and Pfizer with a full BLA by the end of the summer.
Pfizer filed first, so it’s highly likely they’ll get a response first. Moderna should hear back a few weeks later. Both have no known impediments to securing a BLA. Both have been shown to be highly effective and safe after some 300 million doses being given. If there were anything standing between them and approval, the EUA would have been rescinded already. There’s no reason to hold them up; this is happening.
Once that BLA is granted, they are free to released variant-specific shots as BLA addendums. Since they aren’t using any inactivated or attenuated pathogens, they don’t even need new clinical trials. They can simply file the paperwork and roll out new product. Given the ease of making changes with the mRNA platform, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Delta-specific shots shipping from Pfizer and Moderna within weeks of their respective BLAs being granted. Given Delta’s dominance among new COVID-19 cases, such a shot would be a massive blow to COVID and a huge win for America.
“Once that BLA is granted, they are free to released variant-specific shots as BLA addendums.”
...just in time for vaccination effort, prior to the Winter season, that COVID favors.
Because a change like that has to be negotiated under a union contract.
Thanks for the info.
Sorry for late reply. Have been way short on time to get back to all replies to me.
Are not greater shedding / higher viral loads also a factor for likely greater disease severity with Delta, perhaps negating some of the advantage of being vaccinated? IIRC, some data indicates that once one is symptomatic, fatalities are about as common if vaccinated as unvaccinated. The vaccine just makes most people less likely to become symptomatic.
FWIW, stories like this seem to be becoming more common:

High exposures? (The report does not say if the cases were sequential or parallel.)
