The ONLY caveat to this ruling is that polis was waiting to immediately hear that the FDA is going to approve one of the vaccines so this would make it legally easier to mandate.

The Delta variant has mutations in the spike protein, the M protein, and the N protein, along with three other genes.
The vaccines produce antibodies to the spike protein of the original Wuhan virus. That’s what they were developed against. Those antibodies still fit the spike protein of the Delta variant, but changes in its shape mean they don’t fit quite as efficiently, meaning they’re less effective.
This also holds true for the immunity derived after infection with previous versions of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Reinfection with the Delta variant is up to around 1 in 6,000 individuals, which is a significant increase over previous variants. This is a combination of the changes to the S, M, and N proteins.
I think the most likely path forward for vaccines is for Moderna and Pfizer to get their BLA (full FDA approval) at which point they can release a Delta-specific shot under a BLA addendum and not have to wait a year for clinical trials. This is how the updated flu shot is released each year. The only testing required for an addendum to a BLA for a modified vaccine is if an inactivated or attenuated pathogen is used in the vaccine. A small clinical trial is then required to demonstrate that the attenuation or inactivation process is working as intended.

Many would have us believe that all those American soldiers who died from non-combatant causes died from Spanish flu. However, U.S. Army records show that seven men died after being vaccinated.

I live in Louisiana and yesterday when our Democratic governor was reissuing his mask mandate he stated that Louisiana has the highest new COVID cases in the nation and that the next highest state doesn’t even come close.
Today at his news conference Biden, in trying to make political points, said that Red states numbers are highest and that Florida has the highest numbers in the nation.
They need to get their story straight.
Who in the world is claiming 45,000 deaths from the COVID-19 vaccines in the US?
