Imagine you are late on paying your mileage tax.
You get a notification on your virus passport / smart phone app that your electric vehicle has been disabled until the tax is paid.
“Would you rather drive around with an EZ Pass attached to your windshield?”
A Geeky friend of mine said he put together a transmitting device which somehow distupts the signal used to read the transponder used for the EZ Pass device so it cannot read the transponder ID.
He offered me one but since I haven’t been on a toll road in over 3 years I saw no benefit.
You volunteer for this pilot program and you’re essentially a traitor and deserve appropriate treatment.
You need to wake up. There is NOTHING good about this.
But not your fair share. /s
I don’t even own a smart phone. I got along for decades just fine without one, but more and more they are forcing folks to get one. Went to Lindell’s frankspeach.com, and they wouldn’t let a person sign up without a mobile phone number. I got around dit by just putting in 5555555555- but still. I hear there are parking meters now activated by smart phones where folks can’t park if they don’t have one someone said ?
Thankfully put in the sticks there aren’t any meters.
Had a liberal relative ask me if I had a cell phone, and got mad at me when I said “nope, never saw the need for one- bad enough that I have a computer- not gonna get tied to a cell phone all day. If folks wanna call, they can ,eave a message on my landline phone and I’ll get back to them- if I were in business, I could see where it would be handy, but still unnecessary for the type work I did”.
They got genuinely upset, arguing with me that I need one and that you can’t get by anymore without them. I let them rant, then changed the subject.
Anyways.
“per-mile user fees for passenger motor vehicles, light trucks, and medium- and heavy-duty trucks, which amount may vary between vehicle types and weight classes to reflect estimated impacts on infrastructure, safety, congestion, the environment, or other related social impacts.”
A heavy load of the tax - no pun intended - will likely be directed at the trucking and transportation industry so the full measure of the tax is indirect and somewhat hidden. Democrats love indirect taxes.
Merely part of Step # 11 of the communist's well-documented 12-step strategy for permanent & total control...
Step #11: Ban all travel across state lines without proper papers;
It’s not “liberal”.
American government is classical “liberal”. The Constitution went against 3000 years of evolved tyranny.
This crap is a RETURN to Feudalism - that’s all that Marxism EVER was
Was his name Cap’n Crunch??
About two weeks ago I got a bill in the mail from the New York/New Jersey Port Authority for a vehicle going through the EZ Pass toll lane without an EZ Pass.
On the bill was a photograph of the back of a vehicle (not mine) with my license plate number, but the State of the plate was obscured by a license plate frame. They assumed the plate was from my state and sent me the ticket, even though I haven't been to New York in decades, and never in Jersey. I think the plate was a California plate, not Michigan. But the number on the plate was mine, even though the car wasn't even close to my car.
If you have one of those disrupters, I would bet that you'd get photographed and sent a bill anyway.
force you into an electric vehicle.
—
Which you can only charge (when your area is not undergoing a brownout or blackout due to inadequate power generation) your vehicle every 5th day of no shortages. Lotteries will be set up and the lucky winner will get to charge daily for 1 solid week!
This will make long auto trips, where you need a car, expensive, while keeping short trip, which are better suited to alternative transportation, cheap.
It goes after exactly the wrong things.
as far as Fed.gov is concerned...it certainly does go after the right things.
the American Constitutional government was overthrown in an electoral and voter fraud coup 11/03/20
My son bought me a cell phone which sits in my desk drawer. I’m not into being assessable 24/7 by phone. Like you, leave a message on my home phone.
However it’s becoming more and more apparent not having a smart phone eliminates you from certain offers and access. I suspect eventually we’ll all have to have one, but for now I’m still holding off.
Easy enough solution would be for the states to quit accepting any federal transportation dollars. Like that’s really going to happen.
I don’t blame you one bit.i sit in restraints and watch a group of folks at a table sit around texting and the whole table of people have their heads looking down at their phones- practically the whole time they are there. I don’t understsnd it. I know some of it could be them conducting business while eating out with friends, but everyone practicallt, practically, this now. Hardly anyone looks at the other person when talking to them now- they don’t even look up fro their phones. We just had some relatives we hadn’t seen In years visit. They were always checking their phones.
Oh well.
“If you have one of those disrupters, I would bet that you’d get photographed and sent a bill anyway.”
I don’t but I know what you say is true about the photo. I’ll ask him about that but in any case I wouldn’t be using it anyway since I haven’t travelled a toll road in years and when I did it was very seldom and for short distance.
I’m sure the penalty for toll avoidance would greatly out weigh any benefit for me. Long distance truckers would probably benefit if the camera thing can be over come.
I won’t talk with people using their cell phones. It’s rude and more than annoying when they shut you down to take a call. So I just walk away from the conversation.
