You are protected. If you are one of the few that get a breakthrough case you are protected against severe illness/death in almost all cases. The fact remains in this country of those hospitalized with the delta variant way i er 95% are unvaccinated. Those vaccinated and hospitalized, a very small number, do not go on to ICU and death. You have done what you can to protect yourself.
I have consulted two different doctors on the matter. In their view, masks are totally worthless and the vaccines should be pulled off the market TODAY.
You are protected against hospitalization and death to a very significant degree.
The reason the vaccinated fear the unvaccinated is because deep-down many of the vaccinated know or have significant doubt of the effectiveness of the vaccine to protect them from covid. This skeptism is fed by medical "experts" who say that even if vaccinated, a person must continue masking and distancing and other elevated preventive measures above the normal hand washing, avoiding symptomatic people and other routine health practices that would normally be practiced when the risk of infection is minimized following injection with an effective vaccine.
The reason the vaccinated hold such bitter anger toward the unvaccinated is because the vaccinated think it unfair that they put their health at risk by receiving the experimental injection while the unvaccinated enjoy the benefits of "herd immunity" without risking their health. That is, why should we rejoice as the lethal threat of the virus lessens with each passing day when half of the members got a "free ride"?
Except in one significant respect, this is very much like the fear and anger avid maskers hold toward people who choose not to wear a mask. The difference is that while the vaccine offers at least some measure of protection against the respiratory virus (how much protection -- how effective the "vaccine" is in dispute even among medical "experts", even moreso among ego-driven politicians and power-obsessed unelected bureaucrats), the mask -- even a properly selected, applied, fit-tested, worn and maintained N95 mask used by a person trained in the use of PPE -- offers absolutely no protection against transmission of a respiratory virus; no more than if you kept the mask in your pocket and used it as a handkerchief, or if you employed another form of talisman such as a garlic braid worn around your neck in an equally useless effort to ward off Fauci's communist chinese evil spirit, covid.
The Democrat/Marxist/Left is far less concerned with understanding the reasons for these serious societal rifts than with finding creative and effective ways to maintain, ideally increase, the elevated levels of fear, anger and distrust among American citizens as it continues its mission to "fundamentally transform the United States of America" and, of course, to destroy capitalism.
How did you perform work or thinking before 2020???
I think you've identified a key part of it. Nobody likes to admit that they'e been chumped.
Are the illegal immigrants, drug pushers, gang members, etc. all complying? Once that’s done, then maybe I might think they were serious.

My concern has always been how bad people on both sides of the issues re: COVID-19 behave. Insults, some of a personal nature, sometimes wishing people physical illness. Not a good look.
