They'd have no shot with the college kids. With the NBA players, however, Coach K led them to 3 gold medals and won 53 straight games. He made a deal with the NBA guys that they could play offense like they wanted but had to play defense like he wanted. They bought into it. Simply a matter of leadership.
So sad that I have come to root for team USA to lose. Or should I say “team owned by China.”
And the talent gap is quickly closing. I think fairly soon less than half of NBA players will be Americans. You’re going to start seeing a flood of players from France, and other European countries.

To sum up: 40 years ago (1980) the USA was a God loving, patriotic and freedom loving society while the evil Soviets (Russia) were the atheistic,God hating, politically correct nation squashing individualism, freedom of thought and expression while living in abject poverty. 40 years later, the roles are reversed. Their athletes are patriotic and go to church for the Lord’s blessings while our athletes take a knee and turn their back on the flag and flip God the middle finger.
I don’t care if the USA loses every event at the Olympics but I wish Russia good luck. I care more about our men and women serving in uniform than any high paid and ungrateful hood rat or virtue signaling douche wearing “USA” on their uniform.

Well if the athletes root against the United States it is only logical, as one can assume that you are from the United States, that you root against them.
Been rooting against Team USA since they started using pros.
I think God is taking America down a few notches.

The world is catching up to the USA in Basketball. You notice that a lot of NBA stars are European or African. This year’s 2 leading MVP candidates were European... Luca Doncic and Nikolai Jokic ( Jokic won the MVP ). Frenchman Rudy Gobert has been defensive player of the year 3 times. Milwaukee Superstar Giannis Antentokompo is Greek African.
Plus, The Aussies and Nigerians have been playing together for some time and they’re filled with NBA and NCAA Players too.
They aint’ got game and they and the NBA are being exposed for the over paid, second rate losers they are by teams of more talented amateurs who play for love of the game .
On the the bright side, there won't be any kneeling, black power raised fists or ignoring the National Anthem on the podium because there won't be any NBA thug ball players on the podium.
The hottest NBA prospect is French, Victor Wembanyama.
Guess we can call this The Creamed Team….😂
