We have a Transit Connect wagon. You wouldn’t believe what we’ve managed to get home in that thing. I love square cars.

I will never buy another sedan. Like you I want cargo capacity, not just seating. So I buy crossovers or hatchbacks. And I always liked ye old station wagons we made in the US from 1950s onward. The Buick ones were enormous. In the 1980s I had a bullet proof Datsun B510 station wagon. Toyota made some very nice ones too. They were Camry Station wagons.

BTW Your Ford Transit looks amazing! The tradesmen like them without the rear windows. For obvious reasons.

Pix aren’t showing.

I once as a teen considered buying a ‘57 Dodge from a local gentleman. But, decided against it (or my parents did). But, honestly I probably should have. It might’ve been the only “old” car I would ever own. It was in decent shape and the engine compartment so big and barren it would’ve been so easy to work on.

See this is the problem. Cars have gotten so small people think they have to get a truck.

In the old days, cars were big and that included gigantic trunks. And there are so many advantages vs trucks.

E.g., most truck SUVs and vans are really either/or….lots of people, OR lots of baggage. When your whole family goes on vacation, what happens? All the people fit inside the truck…and their baggage is strapped to the roof. And possibly have to attach a cargo box on top, or rent a cargo shelf on the hitch.

With our big Lincoln we could fit all the people in the car, just plop all the luggage in the trunk, not having to heft and wrangle anything special, and still see perfectly well from all angles for driving! No luggage blocking the windows!

Now the pix show. Who can figure.

I think I recall this car…but without 5e details shown. It was just that “it’s pink”. Which is funny because MANY cars were pink based back then.

Purse stuff in the rear does me no good. I want easy access to my purse so some suspicious traffic cop doesn’t shoot me.
