You may have already told them that we used to open every school day with a prayer, along with the Pledge of Allegiance.

I started Kindergarten in 1952. In 1968, I had been out of high school for 3 years, and was the mother of a two year old boy. He’s now 54. He was born on Election Day 1966, and I wasn’t even old enough to legally vote yet. You had to be 21 back then, so I had to wait until 1968 to cast my first ballot.

In Texas, currently, you cannot buy alcohol after midnight Monday-Friday and after Saturday after 1 AM (Sunday morning). You can buy M-Sat at 7 AM, but Sunday not until Noon (in Sept 10 AM).

Car dealers are usually closed either Saturday or Sunday.

Classic Chevy Sugarland has two locations, one closed Saturday, one closed Sunday, just for this. Heck, there’s still dry counties in Texas, too.
