What about African culture are they attempting to honor with this?
To: yesthatjallen
this is a joke, right?
I am quite sure there are fine choices to honor African culture, but this ooga-booga
primitive statue doesn’t send a good message.

On the twitter link somebody commented “I’d look like this too if I had to be in New York City!”
Lots of comments about African Culture. It is 54 countries - how can it have one culture? I don’t know - don’t we talk about European Art and stuff? That’s a bunch of different countries but you see certain styles of statues or art you can maybe guess that it is “European”.
Same goes for Oriental Art, and imho - African Art.
Of course I doubt that this statue is considered art in ANY culture.

Exactly.
That said, not too bad in my view.
I was pleasantly surprized.

So there is a statue of some kid with gigantism sitting on a toilet. What an abomination.

Is this the kind of thing that’s going to replace all of the Jefferson, Washington, Lincoln, etc., etc. statues all around the country?
At least there’s a humor factor to it. :)
